Meet Xin
(Pronounced 'Shin')
Xin Tian, PhD, L Ac., MSTOM, Dipl. OM, Board Certified Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist.
Xin Tian is a licensed acupuncturist in Illinois and board-certified acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She earned her Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) in Chicago.
During her master program at PCOM Xin was trained in both Chinese and Japanese acupuncture styles, and practiced both at the PCOM school clinic. She has great interest in treating patients with less invasive methods.
Xin came to the United Staes two decades ago to pursue her doctoral degree in Civil Engineering. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from University of Illinois at Chicago. Working in transportation network modeling sparked her realization that our human body is a complicated network system too, consisting of the channels and collaterals in Chinese medicine theory. She is amazed by the power of human body and its self healing capabilities. This made her decide to study Chinese medicine. Growing up in China, she and her family always went to Chinese medicine doctors when they were not feeling well. She witnessed the healing power and understands more about them after she systematically studied Chinese medicine.
